If the DTC diagnostic trouble code is related to the ignition coils such as P, P, P, P or P, you may need to replace a failing or faulty ignition coil module. You could also try checking and cleaning the electrical connector. I like to use some painter's tape to secure the socket to the extension bar to help prevent it from popping off and being stuck down in the spark plug well.
Lower the socket into the well and push it on to the top of the old spark plug. Loosen the old spark plug by turning it in the counterclockwise direction. If you have trouble loosening the old spark plug, try spraying a small amount of penetrating oil such as Liquid Wrench, PB Blaster or even WD down into the well. Allow the penetrating oil to work down into the threads for at least 5 to 10 minutes. Try to avoid using excessive force, the old spark plug should break free relatively easily.
If you live in a very cold climate or close to corrosive salt water, you could try warming up the engine or allowing the penetrating oil to seep in for an hour or two.
Do not use an excessive amount of penetrating oil. Spin out the old spark plug the rest of the way by hand. Lift the old plug out of the well and remove it from the socket.
If the old plug is covered in oil, soot or black powder, the engine might be burning oil and should be checked by a professional mechanic. On the other hand, if the old plug is covered in white powder and appears discolored, the engine may have been subjected to over heating and you should have the cooling system checked.
I would recommend returning the plug and exchanging it for a new one. Most iridium plugs should not have their gap adjusted by the consumer. If you have a spark plug gap gaugedouble check the gap on the new spark plugs. Your socket should have a rubber insert or a magnet in it to securely hold the new plug into place. Try to avoid hitting the electrode tip against the top of the engine or the walls of the spark plug well.

On the other hand, if the old spark plugs are dark grey or covered in black soot, the engine may be burning oil and should be checked by a professional mechanic. An optional step is to apply some anti-seize grease to the threads on the spark plug.
Most spark plug manufacturers recommend that you not use anti-seize grease since it can lead to over tightening. Some mechanics believe that using anti-seize grease on the spark plugs will help prevent them from becoming stuck or "frozen" in to the cylinder head if they are not removed again formiles.
If you have a spark plug gap gauge, check that the new spark plugs are gapped to. Your spark plug socket should have a rubber insert or a strong magnet to securely hold the plug in place.
Lower the spark plug down in to the well and spin it in by hand in the clockwise direction with the extension bar until it makes contact with the cylinder head. If you are re-installing the old spark plug, tighten it to just barely past hand tight.
Do not over tighten the spark plugs to prevent from cracking the ceramic body or stripping the aluminum threads. Double check that the new spark plug is tight before moving on to the next steps. The dielectric grease will help keep out moisture and debris. Lower the ignition coil down in to the well and over the new spark plug. Rotate the ignition coil back and forth a few times to help spread the dielectric grease. Re-insert the 10mm bolt and spin it in by hand a few turns to prevent it from becoming cross threaded.
Push the power plug on to the ignition coil until it clicks securely in to place. Double check that the ignition coil bolts and the electrical connectors are secure.

I need colder plugs if anybody has the part number that'd be awesome!! S North east Car s civic si sedan, civic si coupe. Unless you are running a bigger turbo or highly modified, there's no need for colder plugs.
Well then explain the dry fouling on my plugs then? I took it to my mechanic that has worked on all my cars this being my daily.Java code test online
He and I both came to the conclusion that colder plugs would be better. I thought it was quite strange for it to go into limp mode misfire and almost make me crash. I'm running a tune at 24 psi with intercooler CAI and catback running 93 octane. No I am not running lean I only have 6 thousand miles on this bitch. Hmmm and maybe but I don't think so. Had it tested and tuned several times to ensure it was running at optimal lvls. I trust my tuner he is very reputable.
